Laguna Arenal, Volcán Arenal – Costa Rica 2014

My name is Nick Martin and I began this blog in the Summer of 2015 as my second full-time job was winding down. Currently a student at Drexel University, I am pursing both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering…but make no mistake, I don’t have any intention of being another one of the thousands who graduate from college and settle into a cushy 9-5 job (see: my first post). Adventure is in my blood, and I will continue to explore every day of my life.

At the risk of being dubbed insane, here’s a few reassurances that I’m not too weird…I love lacrosse, soccer, beach volleyball, traveling, caving, computer coding, biking, coin collecting, practicing languages, learning, anything competitive, and trying to make money in the most exciting ways possible.

I’ve been to 25 countries to date: Iceland, Poland, Italy, Vatican City, Spain, the U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Sweden, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Luxembourg, Canada, and the United States (I know, does that one really count for me?) and the goal is to finish 20, now 25, (SUCCESS!) by the time I graduate college in the summer of 2017. The other goal: graduate debt free. I don’t know which will be more difficult, but my gut tells me that by attending a 5-year university where the average annual tuition fees can range between $35,000 and $65,000 depending on your chosen program, it will probably be the second.

Next Trip: El Salvador at the end of March during my university break week.
